      Green Waste

At Skip Bins Online, we offer skip bins for the disposal of garden waste, including light foliage, pruning, and more.

Our green waste skip bins, suitable for both residential and commercial garden clean-ups, come with a weight limit of 150kg per cubic meter. Often referred to as “garden organics” or “garden waste” bins, they’re designed specifically for the disposal of biodegradable green waste.

To help you dispose of your waste correctly, please only place approved green waste items in your hire skip. This includes grass clippings, small tree branches, bark, and other soft green materials.

For other materials like clay and dirt, we have specific skip bins designed for those waste types.

What Qualifies as Green Waste and What Cannot Be Disposed Of

When disposing of green waste in skip bins, you need to follow the rules to avoid contamination or additional charges. Here’s a breakdown of what’s accepted and what’s prohibited:

Items You CAN Dispose of in Green Waste Skip Bins:

When using our skips for green waste, it’s essential to understand which materials are allowed. Our green waste skips can take grass clippings, tree branches, bark, and smaller garden materials.

For materials like clay and dirt, you’ll need a dedicated skip specifically for those items.

Keep in mind that tree trunks or stumps over 150mm in diameter and 500mm in length are not permitted in our standard green waste skips. If you have large stumps or trunks, please contact our team—we’ll help you select a suitable bin for your needs.

      - Light Green Waste: Shrubs, grass clippings, twigs, and other light organic materials.

      - Small Branches, Leaves, and Palm Fronds: Common waste from gardening and pruning.

      - Woodchip and Bark: Accepted as long as there is no soil attached.

      - Tree Trunks: Only accepted if they are smaller than 150mm in diameter and less than 1m long.

Items You CANNOT Dispose of in Green Waste Skip Bins:

Safe disposal of green waste is crucial for keeping your space clean and hazard-free. Even though green waste is biodegradable, it’s important to avoid overfilling the bin to prevent any material from spilling over, which can pose safety risks. Please avoid filling the bin beyond its rim to ensure safe transport, as overfilled bins cannot be loaded onto our trucks.

      - Construction Debris: Brick, soil, concrete, tiles, sand, and rocks are not permitted.

      - Large Tree Trunks and Roots: Tree trunks larger than 150mm in diameter or longer than 1m, as well as large roots, are not allowed.

      - Hazardous Materials: Asbestos, insulation, liquids, chemical containers, wet paint tins, and batteries.

      - Palm Tree Trunks and Roots: Not accepted due to bulk and density.

      Importance of Sorting Waste Correctly

Sorting waste correctly helps you avoid extra charges and supports environmental responsibility. Ensure that only acceptable green waste is placed in your skip bin to comply with regulations and avoid additional charges.

Choosing the Right Green Waste Skip Bin

Once you’ve decided on the type of waste you need to dispose of, the next step is selecting the right bin size. The size of your green waste bin will depend on the scale of your cleanup, with larger projects typically requiring bigger bins.

moving house and ideal for downsizing, providing ample space for unwanted items.
